Telehealth Physiotherapy

Telehealth Physiotherapy is a safe, effective, and evidence-based method of delivering physiotherapy services via a digital platform (computer, phone or tablet) using various applications (Zoom, Teams) from the comfort of your own home.

Telehealth Physiotherapy is particularly helpful for new or existing patients who:

  • have mobility issues.
  • may not need hands on treatment, (for example needing exercise prescription or other non-hands-on treatments).
  • live remotely from the clinic.
  • who are isolating

The process is the same as a face-to-face consult at the clinic.  A subjective assessment will be taken to identify what the issue is. You may be asked to perform some movements to help identify your condition. You will be explained your condition and a treatment plan targeted to your needs.

There are many benefits of telehealth physiotherapy.

  • it is safe, effective, and easy to use.
  • it is convenient and can be done in the comfort and privacy of your home.
  • you can access telehealth physiotherapy on phones, tablets, and computers.
  • it can effectively assess new conditions or maintain your treatment program if you are immobile or isolating.

Phone or email us to make a Telehealth Physiotherapy appointment.

Pre- and Post-Surgical Rehabilitation

Your rehabilitation should be well planned and progressive to allow you to regain strength, range of movement and to reduce the likelihood of a repeat injury. Our physiotherapists are experienced with pre and  postoperative care and will work with your surgeon to determine any specific requirements following your surgery to ensure you receive the best possible outcomes. Book in to see one of our dedicated team and let us assist you through your rehabilitation.

Dry Needling

Dry needling involves the use of a fine filament needle to penetrate the skin and release trigger points (tight bands of muscle) in the underlying tissue, effectively reducing pain and enhancing movement and function.

Dry needling uses very fine, sterile needles (acupuncture needles) inserted into tissues to create neurophysiological reactions in the body and stimulate the desired healing effect.

Unlike Traditional Acupuncture where needles are inserted along the meridians of the body to restore the body’s energy flow systems, in Dry Needling the needles are inserted into the centre of a myofascial trigger point (MTrP). This is a hyperirritable spot in the skeletal muscle which is often associated with a hypersensitive palpable nodule in a muscle (a ‘knot’). When the needle is inserted into the MTrP it causes a cascade of events including the release of chemicals in the body which stimulates the nerve fibres in the surrounding area. During the technique you may feel a ‘twitch’ response from the muscle.

Our skilled physiotherapists incorporate dry needling alongside mobility and strengthening exercises, creating an optimal approach for recovering from sports injuries and alleviating everyday musculoskeletal aches and pains.
